How New technology is adopted/diffused/integrated in our curent society.

In the modern world that we live in now, new technology is adopted faster than ever, because teenagers of this age practically live in technology, meaning that they are constantly using it and are hardly ever seen without it. Because of this new technology is adopted, diffused, and innovated at a faster rate then it was before the internet was created or other social networking sites.

E-Waste

E-waste is a hazard to most developing countires, esspecially in Africa. Although the materials found in e-waste can be harvested and used as a source of profit the chemicals and toxins that they contain can cause serious health problems. Europe has developed a system that helps prevent the dumping of e-waste in less wealthy countries, while the U.S on the other hand has done little to prevent our e-waste from being sent into the playing grounds of children India. It is with this that we as a nation need to do a better part at helping other countries be as prosperous as we are.

Digitizing Books!

I believe that digitizing books is very helpful in many ways to students such as myself.
Because these books are now readily available to us on the web then those who can't afford to buy the book can still get a very good idea about the book with what is provided freely by companies such as google books. It is also easier to carry around and look up instead of a book, because computer are readily available almost anywhere.

My Reflection of Weaving the Web

Weaving the web is by the very person who created the web, Tim Berners-Lee, in this story he explains how and for what reasons he created the web for and how large internet providing corporations wanted to charge people for the internet instead of letting it be free to whomever wishes to use it. My reflection on this subject is that I think the web should be free to anyone who needs it because there are many less fortunate people in the world that can not afford much. So if we give them the access to the world-wide web then we are providing them an opportunity to stay more connected with their loved ones and to be more aware of world affairs and problems. And in doing so then we will help third world countries and other unfortunate countries in being more civilized and orderly in an otherwise chaotic world.

Me Myself and I

     I am currently a Junior at John B. Connally high school, I am 16 and I enjoy working with design programs such as Photoshop, Flash, paint, and power point. I was born in the St. Davids Hospital downtown and I was born and raised in Austin. My life's goal is to pursue a career in either game designing or in robotic engineering. Either way I would like to be able to design new things and express myself through what I create along with my personality. My family is quiet small because we are from Caucasian decent, I am mostly German but I also have Scottish, Irish, English, French and i've been told that I even have some Indian in me.

     I used to be in Connallys colorgaurd for my first two years in High School but I quit this year because it was just too much to handle with all my advanced placement classes. My extended family is pretty small because I have no first cousins, will unless cats are considered cousins. I have 4 uncles and only one aunt, I have 2 grandmothers and 1 great grandmother who just turned 100 years old last month. I am very proud to be a part of my family even though everyone can be annoying sometimes, but over all I love everyone and I know they love me too.

     Some of my hobbies consist of drawing, playing online video games, watching movies, and hanging out with all of my friends and family. My skills consist of working the Photoshop, making videos, working with paint, power point, and working with Flash animation, and with these skills I hope they help me pursue my career choice. When I am faced with a challenge I try to comprehend it as best as I can, I try to find every possible solution and if nothing works then I seek help from others.

     I have been known to be a very jumpy and energetic girl which is why some people say that's why I am fun to be with and be friends with; although some people may find me annoying I try not to let anyones words get to me because I feel that only I can decide what my destiny is and what my future holds so that nobody can hold me back.
